Oracle and Deloitte Host Webcast on Challenges and Opportunities of IFRS

As the deadline nears for companies to transition from US GAAP to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Oracle and Deloitte Consulting will present a special webcast for financial services organizations titled The Road Ahead: Understanding the Impact of IFRS on Financial Services Companies with Deloitte and Oracle. The presentation will address the challenges and opportunities that the move will bring to these firms.

Slated for September 22, the live presentation and a subsequent on-demand version will explain the impact of IFRS on the financial services industry in general as well as on individual segments, such as banking, insurance, and securities. The webcast will also offer specifics on what the transition means to organizations that have or plan to implement Oracle solutions.

Among the themes of the presentation will be how financial services organizations can use IFRS to their advantage. “One of the benefits we see coming to organizations in financial services is the ability to have a single global standard for reporting,” says Colin Hartnett, principal at Deloitte Consulting LLP and a scheduled presenter. “And when there’s a standard, consistent way of treating financial matters across business units or across countries, that enables greater integration of business systems and technologies.”

Attend the live event or view an on-demand version.
