Oracle OpenWorld 2008 Highlights Upheaval in HCM

What's the HCM road map for Oracle's E-Business Suite, PeopleSoft Enterprise, and Fusion applications, and how much of a game-changer is the enhanced integration of Oracle Business Intelligence with HCM applications? These are two of the topics generating the most buzz leading up to this year's Oracle OpenWorld 2008 conference.

The conference, which runs from September 21–25 in San Francisco, will present a comprehensive lineup of 46 HCM sessions featuring technology discussions, expert advice, and case studies.

Expected attendees are also reserving seats for sessions describing the rise of Enterprise 2.0, the move by organizations to apply Web 2.0 technologies to people management. Registrants are also intent on learning best practices for how to fully engage employees in the business as a technique for recruiting and retaining talent, says Scott Ewart, Oracle senior director for applications and industry marketing.

Vision and Advice
In "Human Capital Management Vision and Road Map," attendees will learn about the new features scheduled for upcoming releases of the Oracle E-Business Suite Human Resources Management System and Oracle PeopleSoft Enterprise Human Capital Management application. They'll also receive an overview of the evolutionary path to Fusion.

"Integrated Talent Management Insight" explains the potential brought about by the pairing of Oracle Business Intelligence Suite with Oracle's talent management solution. "Enterprise 2.0 for Human Capital Management" will show how to apply instant messaging, blogs, wikis, chat sessions, social networking, and virtual worlds to key areas like benefits administration, knowledge sharing, and mentoring.

In "We Want You Back!" conference-goers will explore why your best assets are walking out the door. Are they going home with the intention of returning tomorrow or are they heading to different opportunities? How do you create a relationship with them that ensures they will exercise their best efforts on your behalf? In this session Oracle PeopleSoft customer McKesson will discuss their successful journey to realizing a new approach to employee interactions and describe how their integrated people management technologies built on the PeopleSoft HCM platform form the basis of successful talent management.
