Three Areas of Innovation Enhance HCM in PeopleSoft 9.1

Oracle’s newly released PeopleSoft 9.1 offers a range of features designed to improve HCM business performance, increase user productivity, and lower the cost of ownership. This release is one of the most robust and comprehensive in recent years.

  1. Improved Business Performance with Robust Talent Management
PeopleSoft HCM 9.1 includes a wide range of talent management improvements. ePerformance users will be able to define and visualize business objectives and share them with one or more employee performance documents to create organizational alignment. They’ll also be able to leverage new eCompensation capabilities for developing and managing multiple compensation type plans and benefit from improved self-service functionality that supports complete compensation management.

Major enhancements to the career and succession planning functionality will help identify key talent, rate and rank high-potential employees, and organize the results to build an organization's leadership pipeline.

Recruiting solutions now include integration with Microsoft Outlook 2007 as well as expanded functionality in candidate screening, profile search/match, and online job offers. Learning Management improvements deepen integration between talent modules, and numerous customer-driven usability enhancements have resulted in an application that is much easier to manage and deploy.

  2. Increased User Productivity with Web 2.0
An improved user interface in PeopleSoft 9.1 provides a vast array of new Web 2.0 enhancements that help improve productivity and drive down costs. Features include type-ahead searching with auto-complete, drag-and-drop grid columns and objects, partial page refresh, mouseover menus, and configurable XY grids in succession planning.

  3. Lower Cost of Ownership with Industry-Specific Solutions
Release 9.1’s industry-specific capabilities address the unique HCM processes of vertical sectors such as retailing and the public sector and help eliminate custom or third-party solutions. For example, tools for public sector transactional fiscal control help organizations ensure budgetary compliance. Retailers can use Release 9.1’s close integration with Oracle’s Workforce Scheduling application to generate the best schedules for employees based on HCM data, which reduces employee downtime and scheduling conflicts. And a more flexible contract pay solution allows easier calculations for K-12 and higher education industry users.
