Gartner: Oracle is #1 on Linux—Again! Gartner has found that Linux is once again the fastest growing operating system in the database market with a 67% leap in overall marketshare. Facts:
- Oracle's marketshare on Linux was 82.6% in 2006, up from 80.6% in 2005
- Oracle on Linux grew 72%, more than 5 percent better than market average
- Oracle RDBMS revenues on Linux are US$1.9425 billion, up from US$1 billion in 2005
