Activision's Switch to Oracle Unbreakable Linux Cuts Costs by 65 Percent
To improve the quality of its technical support for Linux and lower the total cost of ownership for its IT environment, Activision, a leader in interactive entertainment products, has switched to Oracle Unbreakable Linux. The switch to Oracle Unbreakable Linux has lowered Activision's support costs by more than 65 percent while helping to ensure its consumer Web sites and key development systems continue to scale and meet increasingly demanding performance requirements.

Oracle Provides Six New Validated Configurations for Linux Customers
Oracle recently announced six new configurations, now available on Oracle Enterprise Linux, as part of the Oracle Validated Configurations program. Providing proven architectures that include software, hardware, storage, drivers, and networking components tested in real-world environments, Oracle Validated Configurations help Linux customers to achieve standardization, scalability, and reliability while lowering infrastructure costs.

In yet another example of Oracle's long-standing commitment to contributing to the Linux and open source communities, Oracle is collaborating with Intel on a project called LessWatts.org.
