Visa USA Grants Oracle On Demand Key eCommerce Certification

As part of its ongoing commitment to both e-commerce and cardholder data security, Oracle has achieved compliance with the Cardholder Information Security Program (CISP) certification from Visa USA for Oracle On Demand.

CISP certification is granted on an annual basis to companies that meet 12 key benchmarks for the protection of customer data, including secure firewalls, data encryption, internal access to data only on "need-to-know" basis, and the ability to track all access to data by unique ID.

"Meeting these requirements demonstrates Oracle commitment to protecting the confidentiality and integrity of cardholder data that passes through the Oracle On Demand payment gateway," says Marc Fiedler, director of Oracle On Demand product management.

CISP compliance is in fact only one part of Oracle On Demand's rigorous approach to security, which leverages industry best practices, SAS-70 audit and certification, and logical security within Oracle’s products, as well as embassy-grade physical security at Oracle's fully redundant data centers.
