New Oracle E-Business Suite On Demand Lifecycle Services Offerings Provide Support Every Step of the Way

Oracle On Demand's new Oracle E-Business Suite Lifecycle Services offer customers the clearest, most comprehensive path from initial On Demand readiness assessment through upgrades to continued evolutions of their Oracle solutions.

Based on optimized, repeatable and, wherever possible, automated IT processes, Lifecycle Services cover the entire technology stack from infrastructure, to database, middleware, and applications, speeding deployment, enhancement and planning for IT solutions that are always aligned with business strategy.

"Lifecycle Services leverage Oracle’s extensive experience across diverse industries and geographies to speed time to market, reduce risk, and maximize return on investment," says Marc Schwarz, senior vice president, Oracle On Demand. “Customers are telling us they want focused support along every step of the way, and they want to know how to align IT solutions with their business goals. Obviously, nobody knows more about Oracle than Oracle, so it just makes sense that customers would look to us to provide end to end services."

Beyond the core services and extensions available to host and manage Oracle software, the new offering includes four key elements, each geared to a particular activities within the software ownership lifecycle: Migration Service, Transition Advisory Service , Upgrade Service and Governance Service.

Migration Service
Designed for Oracle customers already live on Oracle E-Business Suite who want to move to the On Demand environment, Migration Service provides a rapid and cost-effective migration. The Service includes test migrations, a full production migration, support during customer testing of test and production migrations, and post-production support.

Transition Advisory Service
The Transition Advisory Service assists customers new to either Oracle or Oracle On Demand, as well as On Demand customers during a significant change or expansion of their current On Demand footprint. Transition Advisory Service provides management and tracking of Oracle tasks, issues, and risks; guidance on On Demand standards, procedures, environments, and tool sets; organization of Metalink and CEMLI standards training; and guidance on compliance with On Demand standards.

Upgrade Service
Designed for On Demand customers who want to upgrade to the latest version of Oracle E-Business Suite, the Upgrade Service provides test upgrades; a full production upgrade; support during customer testing of test and production upgrades; and post-production support.

Governance Service
By providing a formal management framework, Governance Service enables Oracle and On Demand customers to mutually manage their relationship, expectations, dependencies, and services through the life of the On Demand agreement. Key features include scheduling of strategic business and technology events; identifying events and/or scenarios that may require additional licenses and/or On Demand Services; monitoring all On Demand operational services; and measuring their performance in accordance with standard service levels; and periodic service reviews.
