OAUG Reports from COLLABORATE 07: Exciting Times for Procurement User Groups

The Oracle Applications Users Group (OAUG)'s COLLABORATE 07 conference took place in April in Las Vegas, and concluded as one the best events for users in the past several years. The OAUG's procurement user community was highly energized and overflowed the more than a dozen sessions that OAUG graciously provided. This year the conference was aptly named COLLABORATE, as our user group expanded by more than 200 members looking to interact with their peers.

This year's attendees were heavily focused on learning how to expand their use of Oracle's recent procurement enhancements. The product suite has clearly matured in functionality to the point where more than 80 percent of our members surveyed indicated they intend to implement or expand their usage of Oracle vendor collaborative tools, including Oracle iSupplier Portal and Oracle Sourcing.

Tom Anthony, Oracle's senior director of product strategy, and David Hope-Ross, Oracle's senior director of procurement applications, joined forces to highlight their products' newest capabilities at one of the highest-rated sessions of the event.

The user interface in the latest Oracle releases is truly next-generation and will make finding information that cuts across lines much easier. I was doubly pleased with the products, because at Genpact we have implemented Oracle Advanced Procurement globally to run our business, and we use the product suite for our clients. We have several thousand users of Oracle applications, managing procure-to-pay activities across the Global 2000. With Oracle's latest product releases, I can see that every one of our customers is going to become much more productive.

Don't Miss the 2007 Procurement User Group Summit
This year at the 2007 Procurement User Group Summit, we are holding a two-day event in concert with the product strategy and development teams at Oracle. AMR Research and Aberdeen Research are sponsoring our summit with procurement and supply chain research and presentations. These firms are building a special library of relevant domain research for our members to begin accessing.
For more information, please see the OAUG's Procurement SIG page.

Visit the OAUG Articles and Research Library
OAUG members can now visit the Procurement Articles and Research Library that we are building. We are busily loading our customer presentations and panel sessions on topics such as Oracle iSupplier Collaboration (Friedkin Business Services), Supply Chain Optimization and Implementing Procurement Analytics (Genpact), Implementing Global Procurement Best Practices (Answerthink), and Oracle iProcurement Success (Humana).

Please send an e-mail to Steven.Jolly@Genpact.com if you would like to join our user group, gain access to our research library, or attend the 2007 Procurement User Group Summit.
