NRF Preview: Oracle Retail Stakes Out Flagship Presence at January's BIG Show

From a two-story booth in a prime location to networking activities like the BIG CIO Party, Oracle Retail is staking out a flagship presence at this year's National Retail Federation (NRF) BIG Show, which will take place in New York's Jacob K. Javits Convention Center January 11–14.

Already the industry leader with all 20 of the world's top global retailers as customers, Oracle Retail plans to demonstrate the ways its solutions are helping transform the economics of retail—especially vital as the global economy cools rapidly.

"We want to show attendees how Oracle technologies can help them not just survive but actually prosper in a tough market and beyond," says Duncan Angove, general manager of Oracle Retail. "Our goal is to demonstrate to retailers how they can generate cash, remove excess inventory, and drive operational efficiencies in creative, new ways."

In particular, Oracle's presence at the NRF BIG Show will cover three themes:

  • Deep vertical expertise, including grocery, hard lines and fashion as well as emerging and fast-growth retailers
  • Functional demonstrations of Oracle's complete retail solution footprint, whose breadth and depth are unparalleled in the industry
  • A showcase of customer successes that demonstrate the ways Oracle has helped its retail customers increase gross profits by more than US$3 billion

Business Performance Clinic
To help NRF attendees negotiate a hyper-competitive environment, Oracle will also offer a Business Performance Clinic, where retailers can instantly benchmark their performance against publicly traded peers.

Oracle representatives will then be available to evaluate the results and discuss creative ways to boost performance and align your technology investments with business priorities—over both the short and long terms.

One-Stop Shopping
Located right at the entrance of the show floor, Oracle's bi-level booth will feature 15 kiosks covering the entire Oracle Retail footprint. Attendees will be able to see Oracle Database and Oracle Fusion Middleware technologies in action, as well as industry-leading storefront, central office, back office, and business intelligence solutions. You'll also be able to learn about solutions specific to your vertical segment, including fashion, grocery, and hard lines.

For a bigger-picture look at the industry's future, Oracle Retail executive Duncan Angove will lead a "Big Ideas" session titled "Retail Imperatives for Growth and Value Creation" on Monday, January 12, at 1:45 p.m.
