Oracle Retail Plans "Conference Within a Conference" at Oracle OpenWorld 2009

Building on last year's success, Oracle Retail is once again designing a "conference within a conference" for Oracle OpenWorld 2009, offering an intimate experience that’s designed specifically for retail customers while still enabling attendees to enjoy broader conference offerings.

This year's conference will take place October 11-15 in San Francisco's Moscone Center.

In addition to a dedicated track of retail-focused sessions at the Palace Hotel, the 2009 program will give attendees an opportunity to experience the Oracle OpenWorld program to its fullest, including demo grounds, special exhibits and pavilions, and networking activities.

Duncan Angove, general manager, Oracle Retail, will kick off the conference with a keynote address dedicated to the retail industry's dramatic shift from product centricity to customer centricity. He'll discuss this change in light of the global economic slowdown, changing consumer demographics, and the increasingly significant impact of new technologies.

Other key sessions include:

  • Customer-Centric Merchandising
  • Green Retail in the Real World
  • Create Demand and Drive Profit Through Lifecycle Pricing
