Oracle Unveils Oracle Retail 13.1.1, Including New Integrated Inventory Planning Suite
The recent unveiling of Oracle Retail 13.1.1 brings wide-ranging enhancements across Oracle Retail store, merchandising, and retail planning and supply chain solutions—plus the launch of the new Oracle Integrated Inventory Planning Suite.
"With our new integrated inventory planning suite, retailers have an unprecedented ability to offer customers the right product, in the right amount, in the right place, and at the right time," explains Duncan Angove, senior vice President and general manager, Oracle Retail.
Maximizing ROII
To help retailers maximize return on inventory investment (ROII), the new inventory planning suite brings together Oracle Retail Replenishment Optimization, Oracle Retail Demand Forecasting, and Oracle Retail Advanced Inventory Planning.
"For far too long, retailers in segments like grocery and hardlines have carried out inventory planning processes reactively, often relying on outdated information," says Angrove.
In response to this dilemma, the suite offers integrated inventory planning features and robust simulation and optimization capabilities. With "on-the-fly" service-level and inventory parameter setting optimization, executives and managers can base plans on multiple business objectives such as sales, margin, or volume.
And to help support the linkage between localized assortments and inventory execution, retailers can leverage new-item-importance capabilities to drive inventory execution that more optimally aligns with their assortment strategy.
Enhancements Across the Oracle Retail Footprint
In addition to the new suite, innovations in Oracle Retail 13.1.1 include
- Oracle retail store solutions. The new release includes expanded globalization, with support for 11 languages and foundations for localization into specific markets—plus new tools for increased operational efficiency, customer centricity, and more consistently superior customer service.
- Oracle retail merchandising. Sustained investment in Oracle retail merchandising includes enhanced tools for customer centricity, agility, operational excellence, and globalization.
- Oracle retail planning and supply chain. Key enhancements include expanded vertical capabilities, enhanced user experience, and expanded analytics.
