SOA Enhancements Let Developers Build Human Workflow Quickly and Easily

With seamless integration of SOA components and a clean visual interface, Oracle's newest SOA offering makes it possible for developers to rapidly build human workflow and write SOA applications as soon as fifteen minutes after download.

"If a company has been waiting for the next-generation in ease-of-use before downloading and evaluating Service-Oriented Architecture," says Kevin Clugage, product director for Oracle Fusion Middleware, "now is the time."

Improved Human Workflow
Oracle SOA Suite 10g Release 3 includes enhancements that make it easier to build and manage human workflows. "Building complex routing and escalation tasks is simplified in this version," says Clugage. "The visual designer makes it easier to build workflows with human activities, and an enhanced worklist interface makes it easier for task owners to manage their assignments and worklists."

Oracle SOA Suite 10g Release 3 pulls together all the core pieces of technology for developing and orchestrating SOA applications into one integrated suite. Oracle achieved this feat, in part, by offloading much of the messaging and routing work to its industry-leading enterprise service bus, allowing for simpler process orchestration.

"Now process orchestration software doesn't have to deal with what's going on 'under the hood'," says Clugage. "It just orchestrates applications and data sources and lets the enterprise service bus take care of the rest." As a result, Oracle SOA Suite 10gR3 is able to provide a highly visual environment with drag-and-drop tools to connect services and data sources.

Oracle SOA Suite 10gR3 has reached a new level of sophistication compared to the competition. "By delivering all major SOA components into a single download and integrating human workflow capabilities, we're well ahead of the market on this," says Clugage.
