IDS Scheer Partnership Helps Oracle Accelerate Partner Innovation

The new Oracle Business Process Analysis (BPA) Suite incorporates IDS Scheer's industry-leading ARIA platform to rapidly design, model, and simulate new business processes. This makes it possible for business or IT managers to automate multistep processes and identify problems in workflows before they occur. The result is better and faster execution of new business processes.

"Lots of companies devise new business models. But only the ones that quickly execute on them gain market share and grow revenue," says Ashish Mohindroo, director of marketing for Oracle Fusion Middleware. To help customers compete, Oracle and IDS Scheer have taken process management to a higher level. Oracle BPA Suite is the industry's only open, standards-based BPM offering that meets the unique needs of business analysts and developers.

Hot-Pluggable for Heterogeneous Environments
Oracle BPA Suite complements Oracle's existing standards-based BPM products, including Oracle SOA Suite, and can be deployed with Oracle and non-Oracle applications to provide business analysts and architects with business process modeling, simulation, and publishing capabilities.

Complementary Oracle and IDS Scheer technologies enable closed-loop process automation and optimization via shared metadata and a unified repository. "That means changes made at the IT layer are automatically reflected back at the process design and modeling layer and vice versa," says Mohindroo. "So analysts and developers are always working on the exact same process model."

"We are really pleased with the Oracle and IDS Scheer partnership," says Ken Chih, CIO of Orient Overseas Container Line. "This will allow us to leverage the best of process modeling and execution without having to deal with two different vendors."

Customers using the combined solution will benefit from an ability to maximize return on investment through reuse and minimize administrative costs and a reduction in errors that typically result from inconsistencies across technologies. The integration between the two products delivers near real-time model exchanges.
