Applications Unlimited and Fusion Mean Continued Choice for PeopleSoft Enterprise Customers

Applications Unlimited gives customers of companies recently acquired by Oracle the assurance that their products will continue to evolve and be supported by Oracle. Oracle Fusion is the vision of the next generation in product evolution. Together, these initiatives are a platform for choice for PeopleSoft customers.

Oracle is working closely with our customer communities—including our CIO Advisory Board, product and industry strategy councils, and customer advisory boards—as well as with individual customers, to determine product directions. In addition, Oracle's independent global user groups have created a single "Oracle Fusion Channel" through which user group members worldwide can assist and provide feedback directly into our development effort.

It's a strategy that's especially important for PeopleSoft Human Capital Management users. "PeopleSoft HCM customers been loyal to this product for a long time and we want to keep them happy," says Tracy Martin, Oracle's senior director of PeopleSoft HCM strategy. ""PeopleSoft had such a huge market share and leadership and human capital to begin with, and we want to be able to continue that."

The Applications Unlimited strategy dovetails with Oracle's Fusion technology roadmap by giving customers a choice to move to a new platform or remain committed to existing applications that will continue to evolve with new features.

Given the dual tracks, will there be new versions of PeopleSoft Human Capital Management after Release 9? Oracle has announced it's already in the early planning stages for post-9.0 releases, and is working with customer advisory boards to determine possible new features for those releases.
