New PeopleSoft Release Improves Procurement Processes, Supplier Relationships, and Regulatory Compliance

The release of Oracle's PeopleSoft Enterprise Supplier Relationship Management 9.0 (SRM) enables procurement managers to improve business processes, better manage supplier relationships, and simplify compliance with government and industry regulations.

Improving Supplier Relationships
The release makes supplier performance tracking easier by providing a collection of role-based dashboards that deliver the right information to the right person at the right time. For example, dashboards help vendor managers by providing a current view of supplier performance and adherence to SLAs. Views of spend by commodity and organizational unit also help to drive improvements by providing a fact-based approach to negotiations.

Supplier analysis tools help vendor managers easily track how much business an organization gives each supplier, providing data that can help in subsequent contract negotiations. The Supplier Relationship Management dashboard includes metrics that show monthly business-unit-level summaries of requisitions, purchase orders, and receipts, which make it easier to manage approvals and track spending.

This information can help managers identify areas for potential cost-savings by highlighting off-contract spending or supplier discounts.

Streamlining Procurement Processes
PeopleSoft SRM 9.0 also provides substantial enhancements that increase agility and efficiency. To help improve business processes, PeopleSoft SRM 9.0 offers new features that accommodate amount-only requisitions and improve off-catalog requests. The procurement technology also simplifies procure-to-pay processing for buyers and their suppliers.

The PeopleSoft Enterprise Services Procurement 9.0 module brings efficiencies to service coordinators in supplier organizations by reducing administrative overhead. It can also simplify payments by providing functionality directly to service coordinators in supplier organizations.

Compliance Help
To aid regulatory compliance activities, PeopleSoft SRM 9.0 offers tools geared for specific laws, such as Sarbanes-Oxley, the Federal Acquisition Requirements (FAR), and the new federal rules from the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). For example, a new credit holds-management workbench helps companies adhere to Sarbanes-Oxley rules and reduce risk by providing credit-management capabilities that govern and document who can access and edit credit holds and releases.
