NEW PATCH AVAILABLE
Oracle Diagnostics for E-Business 11i is pleased to announce the release of its latest patch, IZU_11i.8.2 (patch 6459585). For installation details, please see Metalink note 167000.1. By installing this latest patch, the previously hard-coded timeout values have been moved to profile options. In the event RDA (or any other diagnostic) runs longer than expected, the timeout issue can be easily resolved by increasing the value of one (or more) of these newly defined profile options. The patch readme will provide complete and detailed information. For a complete list of new and updated tests, please refer to the Release 11i catalog in Metalink.

JD EDWARDS ENTERPRISEONE TOOLS 8.96 UPDATE 3
Oracle announces the availability of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools 8.96 Update 3, which contains support for Oracle Application Server 10gR2 (version 10.1.3.1), Oracle Database version 10.2.0.3, and more. The 8.96.3.0 update also includes general maintenance, including fixes in maintenance packs 8.96.1.1 through 8.96.2.3. For more information, see the full announcement on Customer Connection. JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 8.96.3.0 can be downloaded from the Update Center.

JD EDWARDS ENTERPRISEONE TOOLS 8.97 RELEASE AVAILABLE
With the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools 8.97 release, Oracle announces the availability of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 8.12 Standalone with 8.97. The new standalone version includes JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools 8.97 release and Update 2 for JD Edwards EnterpriseOne application release 8.12. New functionality included in this version of standalone includes native Web services, Web client enhancements, and more, and can be downloaded here.

8.11 SP1/8.97 BACKPORTS AVAILABLE
As part of Oracle’s Applications Unlimited, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne application release 8.11 SP1 now supports all the capabilities delivered with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools 8.97 release including business services, enhanced integration with Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher, effective dates for daylight saving time, and hyperlink security functionality. To enable these 8.97 enhancements, download the planner ESU (electronic software update) JJ15772 and the baseline ESU JJ15756. Refer to the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 8.97 Release Notes for descriptions of all JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools enhancements and their dependency on application versions.

8.12 BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE TRANSLATIONS AVAILABLE
Oracle announces the availability of twenty-one language translations for JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tool Release 8.97 embedded BI Publisher. The translations are available via ASU’s and are specific to apps release 8.12. The ASUs can be found on Customer Connection. Oracle’s BI Publisher reporting engine has been embedded in JD Edwards EnterpriseOne tool since release 8.96. This engine allows customers more flexibility in extracting, transforming, publishing and distributing data from JD Edwards EnterpriseOne. The ASU’s are translated versions of the Tools applications used in conjunction with embedded BI Publisher.

NOW AVAILABLE - SERVICE ENABLEMENT UPDATE
This second installment of World A9.1 Service Enablement contains everything included in Base A9.1 Service Enablement, plus additional Web services. While Base A9.1 Service Enablement focused on “composite” services such as “Add Customer Master”, these additional Web services focus on “granular” Web services, such as “Create Batch Header” or “Convert Standard Unit of Measure”. These granular services are intended to be used by customers building a collaborative application or integration accessing World through Web services.

NOW AVAILABLE - XML, TXT, AND XSD EXPORT FORMATS
This enhancement to Import/Export adds three new export file formats for Interactive Export, Batch Export from DREAM Writer, and Batch Export from World Writer. The XML output format creates a well-formed XML document which may be used as input to other applications such as Oracle BI Publisher. The XSD (XML Schema Definition) output format is used when defining an XSL (XML Stylesheet Language) transformation for an XML document. TXT (Text) format is useful, for example, to send report or inquiry images as email attachments.
