ORACLE ANNOUNCES THE AVAILABILITY OF JD EDWARDS ENTERPRISEONE TOOLS 8.96 UPDATE 2
Oracle announces the availability of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools 8.96 Update 2, which contains support for Oracle Enterprise Linux 4 (32-bit) for JD Edwards EnterpriseOne enterprise servers, Web application servers, and database servers—and much more. The 8.96.2.0 update also includes general maintenance, including fixes in maintenance packs 8.96.1.1 through 8.96.1.4. For more information, see the full announcement on Customer Connection. ANNOUNCING PLANNED SUPPORT FOR THE UPCOMING SINGLE EURO PAYMENTS AREA
Oracle is pleased to announce planned support for the upcoming Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) to help businesses and banks worldwide reap the benefits of the initiative and to increase the efficiency of cross-border electronic payments within Europe. SEPA support in JD Edwards EnterpriseOne is planned for calendar Q2 of 2008 for all supported releases except Xe and ERP8, which do not support IBAN (International Bank Account Number standard) or SEPA.

The JD Edwards two-day program starts with a joint keynote address on Wednesday, November 14, by Lenley Hensarling, group vice president and general manager of JD Edwards, and John Schiff, vice president and general manager, JD Edwards World, followed by two road map overview sessions. The conference ends with separate executive panel Q&A sessions for JD Edwards World and JD Edwards EnterpriseOne. You can also attend special tracks dedicated to bringing you detailed information on JD Edwards World A9.1 and JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 8.12. JD EDWARDS WORLD TRANSFER OF INFORMATION ONLINE TRAINING ACCESS
Current release online training is now available free of charge to all customers with Oracle Support contracts. These Transfer of Information (TOI) courses (formerly known as Seminars On Demand or Net Change) cover new functional and technical enhancements available in recent releases of PeopleSoft Enterprise, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, and JD Edwards World applications. You can access the training via Customer Connection: click Oracle University; scroll to "Access Release Online Training"; then click First Time Users for setup instructions, or click Return Users for repeat user direct access.

2008 LEAP YEAR SETUP IN JD EDWARDS WORLD
Be sure to verify that general accounting fiscal date patterns are set up with 29 days for February 2008 to ensure that transactions are posted correctly. Calendars automatically adjust to the leap year, but the fiscal date patterns must be manually adjusted. If you have questions, please contact Oracle Support at +1.800.289.2999.

SIGN UP TO BE A MEMBER OF THE WORLD UPGRADE CONSORTIUM
The objective of the World Upgrade Consortium (WUC) is to bring JD Edwards World customers that are upgrading together with Oracle representatives to enable the sharing of lessons learned, tips and techniques, and best practices. The calls are held monthly the first Thursday of each month, at 9 a.m. MST, and are now recorded and posted both on the WUC Quest Web site and (soon to be posted) on the JD Edwards World upgrade Web site on Customer Connection.

To join the WUC, go to the Quest Web site. If you are not already a subscriber of the Quest International Users Group, you will need to set up a profile to get a sign-on ID and password. Once you are on the home page, you will find a link at the bottom-right corner, under the "User Groups" section, called SIG's – IUG's – PUG's. Click that link, and locate "JD Edwards World Upgrade Consortium" in the listing of groups. Click the link, and when you get to the Consortium home page, there will be a box titled Announcements List on the right side that says "Subscribe to the JD Edwards World Upgrade Consortium." Click the gray box and you will be added as a member to this group.

VENEZUELA CURRENCY CHANGEOVER
Companies using JD Edwards World in Venezuela should begin now to prepare for the conversion. The Base Currency Conversion (E9 Euro Conversion) will need to be installed and run to convert the data in JD Edwards World. The conversion programs convert monetary amounts and currency codes. As a result, they affect JD Edwards World data files that contain currency codes, monetary amounts, or both. Note that the Base Currency Conversion will not convert non-JD Edwards data files. For information on downloading and using the Base Currency Conversion, search the Knowledge Browser for Solution ID 201048951 (requires ID and password).

ARGENTINA LOCALIZATIONS: SUPPORTED UPDATE VERSIONS FOR LOCALIZATIONS
After November 30, 2007, the supported versions for development of Argentina localizations will be JD Edwards World A7.3 Cumulative Update 16, JD Edwards World A8.1 Cumulative Update 03, and JD Edwards World A9.1. Whenever practical, code change documents will also be provided so that customers on older releases can adapt them as desired. For additional information, search the Knowledge Browser (requires ID and password) under "Breaking News and Critical Issues".
