FROM THE EDITOR
Justin Kestelyn, Editor-in-Chief, OTNDear OTN Member:

Oracle Fusion Middleware takes a bold step forward with Release 3 (10.1.3) of Oracle Application Server 10g and Oracle JDeveloper 10g, which are now available for download in production versions.

In addition to certified J2EE 1.4 support, Oracle Application Server 10g offers integrated middleware components for business rules management, Web services management, object persistence, and identity management (and more), as well as support for emerging technologies like Ajax, EJB 3.0, JavaServer Faces, and ADF Faces. More info is available in the New Features white paper (PDF).

And for a great overview of the new features in JDeveloper 10g 10.1.3—which is really so much more than just an IDE at this point—listen to OTN's new podcast interview with Brian Fry and Oracle ACE Shay Shmeltzer of the JDev team.
