Query and Reporting

Using query and reporting tools, you can extract information out of the database or the data warehouse. In the standard interactions, the results presented to the user are information that they knew existed in the database.

A report showing the breakdown of sales by product lines and region is retrieved using a simple query. For example, a query can answer a question such as, "Who purchased the Friends and Family plan in the last 3 years?"
