Luke Carroll has been working in the IT Industry for over 30 years in both an IT and Business capacity. He initially worked as a Software engineer developing Enterprise Business Applications for mainframe and distributed computing environments and later moved into business consultancy to assist organisations adopt technologies to enhance business performance.

Having worked in General Electric, Amdahl, Digital Equipment and Silicon Graphics Luke has a deep understanding of the complexities surrounding Business-IT alignment and the challenges companies face when adopting new technologies.

Since joined Oracle in 2000 Luke has been primarily focused on promoting the value of our Database and Middleware solutions to our customers. Luke has written research papers on the Internet as a Strategic Business resource and the impact of the Internet on the software reseller channel.

He is a founding member of the EDI Association of Ireland and has worked with the European open standards body for defining Intercompany Business-to-Business document exchange.

Luke has a B.Sc in Business and Information Technology from Trinity College Dublin and an International MBA from the Michael Smurfit School of Business, University College Dublin.
