Start in the Middle: The Integration Point
I am excited to welcome you to the Middleware stream at Oracle OpenWorld. As head of middleware development for Oracle, I will be hosting this stream and presenting a general session for our middleware products on Monday, September 22, at 2:30 p.m. I am planning to present an overview of our middleware product strategy, demonstrate several of the major new product advances we will be introducing with upcoming releases of Oracle Fusion Middleware, and show you the rapid progress we are making on integrating Oracle Fusion Middleware and BEA technology. Some of the areas I plan to discuss include how to build Rich Internet Applications using our development tools and application framework; the evolution of our service-oriented architecture (SOA) to integrate applications and modernize business process management; the use of enterprise portals and content management to streamline information delivery; the many advances in scalability and high availability we are introducing to optimize transaction processing on high-performance application grids; and the brand-new capabilities we will be introducing to lower the cost of administering identity management, SOA governance, and business application management
