Submission Fields (*mandatory field)

Title*: Maximum character limit is 80 characters, including spaces (approximately 12 to 17 words)

Abstract*: Maximum character limit is 750 characters, including spaces

Tracks*:

• Oracle OpenWorld is organized by Products and Services tracks, and by Solutions tracks. When submitting a proposal, at least one product or service must be chosen from the pulldown list. You may also choose additional Products and Services from the Optional Products and Services list if desired.
• Please select a maximum of 2 Product and Services selections, unless authorized. Any sessions with more than 2 may be declined.
• In addition, you may choose up to 2 Solution Selections in the Solutions pulldown list. Please select a maximum of 2 Solutions selections, unless authorized. Any sessions with more than 2 may be declined.
• If you categorize your session under an Applications Product or Service, you will be required to assign at least one Applications Solution area in that pulldown field. You may also choose additional solutions under the pulldown solutions field referenced above (up to 3).

Session Type*: Describes the format in which the topic will be delivered

• Conference Session: A 60-minute session presented by Oracle, customers, partners, developers, and/or user group members
• Panel: A 60-minute session presented in a panel format by multiple speakers consisting of Oracle, customers, partners, developers, and/or user group members
• Tutorials: A 2 hour speaker led session where the presenter literally show attendees a live "How to" tutorial, and attendees can ask questions to the presenter during this. It doesn't require the attendee to have any equipment whatsoever. Ideally, the attendee should be listening and taking notes (JavaOne only).
• User Group Forum: A 60-minute session submitted by user group members for the Sunday User Group Forum (Oracle OpenWorld and JavaOne only)
• SIG (Special Interest Group): A 60-minute meeting run by the User Groups. Subject to approval (Oracle OpenWorld only)
• Birds of a Feather (BOFs): A 45- or 60-minute session that allows a closer interaction with the speakers and attendees focusing on a particular aspect of technology (MySQL Connect and JavaOne only)
• Hands-on Lab (HOL): A two-hour hands-on, interactive lab session (JavaOne only)

Session Category*: Describes the type of information to be presented (JavaOne and MySQL Connect only)

Experience Level*: Identifies the knowledge level of the targeted attendee (JavaOne only)

Presentation Summary*: For evaluation only, this is an additional description of your proposal to help the reviewers better understand your submission (JavaOne only)

Attendee roles*: This field describes the attendee roles toward which the session is geared. You may select a maximum of two roles. (JavaOne only)

Adding Participants

Each submission must have at least one speaker assigned in order to be considered.

Session Roles

Submitter Role:

• The person submitting the session will be designated as the submitter for that session. This role is used strictly to track the session submitter. The submitter is not the speaker of the session unless he or she assigns himself or herself a speaker role.
• The submitter will receive confirmation for the entered session but will not receive the speaker invitation and communications after that point (unless he or she has a speaker role).
• The submitter must assign at least one speaker to each session he or she enters.
• The submitter will have the option to click a button and add himself or herself as a speaker.

Session presenter

• Receives all speaker communications
• Be prepared to enter the speaker name, company name, e-mail, and mobile number
• It is always a plus to include more speaker information, including a biography and Twitter handle. For JavaOne, it is a requirement that you include the speaker biography and Twitter handle.

Session Speaker Limits:

• Conference Sessions:
  Maximum of 3 Oracle speakers
  Maximum of 2 non-Oracle speakers
  Can consist of any combination as long as it does not exceed 3 speakers in total
• Panels:
  Maximum of 5 Oracle speakers
  Maximum of 4 non-Oracle speakers
  Can consist of any combination as long as it does not exceed 5 speakers in total
• Tutorials:
  Max of 3 Oracle speakers; Max of 2 non-Oracle speakers; Not to exceed 3 speakers in total.
• User Group Forum Session:
  Maximum of 2 non-Oracle speakers
• SIG Meeting Leader:
  Maximum of 1 non-Oracle speaker/meeting leader
• Birds of a Feather (BOFs)
  Maximum of 3 Oracle speakers
  Maximum of 2 non-Oracle speakers
  Can consist of any combination as long as it does not exceed 3 speakers in total
• Hands-on Lab (HOL)
  Maximum of 8 speakers
