Oracle is once again pleased to welcome its worldwide user groups to Oracle OpenWorld 2011 in San Francisco. All conference attendees are encouraged to engage with members of the Asia Pacific Oracle User Group Community (APOUC); Europe, Middle East, and Africa Oracle User Group Community (EOUC); Higher Education User Group (HEUG); Independent Oracle Users Group (IOUG); Java User Groups (JUGs), Oracle Development Tools User Group (ODTUG); Oracle HCM Users Group (OHUG); Oracle Applications Users Group (OAUG); GlassFish Community and Quest International Users Group. This year, we're very happy to welcome the MySQL Community into the Users Forum.

The User Group Pavilion
Representatives from participating user groups will be on hand at the User Groups Pavilion in Moscone West, Lobby Level 2. There you can discuss the benefits of user group membership, share the latest developments, and get feedback. If you're a member of a user group already, stop by to see what's new and connect with old friends. If you're not a member of a user group or are new to Oracle, explore the opportunities and benefits of user group affiliation and representation. EMEA Oracle User Group Community (EOUC) membership has many benefits, including networking and sharing best practices between groups, help for emerging user groups, access to timely and relevant information available only to the user group community, and ability to participate in International Oracle Users Group Community (IOUC) committees and initiatives that provide direct feedback and direction to Oracle's products and services groups. Higher Education User Group (HEUG) is an international organization consisting of higher education institutions that use Oracle applications and middleware. As the largest independent industry-specific Oracle user group in the world, HEUG represents more than 20,000 users from more than 900 campuses in 28 countries. The mission of HEUG is to facilitate the building of communities through the sharing of ideas, information, and experiences among its members and to provide a unified and effective voice to Oracle on all issues involving the use of Oracle applications and middleware in the higher education and research industry. Independent Oracle Users Group (IOUG) serves its international community of more than 22,000 database administrators, architects, security and system administrators, technical managers, and IT professionals focused on Oracle Application Express, business intelligence, data warehousing, Oracle Database, Oracle Exadata, Linux, middleware, MySQL, security, storage, Oracle Real Application Clusters (Oracle RAC), Oracle Universal Content Management, and the entire Oracle technology stack. LAOUC is a national community to support Oracle in Latin America and the Oracle user groups in the region, our main goal is to be an open channel between Oracle HQ and the community at large. We also seeks to encourage the realization of Oracle events, exchange of knowledge and experience to assist in the creation of: White Papers, Blogs and new user groups in LAD.

MySQL User Groups organize face-to-face meetings in hundreds of cities around the world, providing an excellent environment to share your experience with fellow users. Some meetings are informal, with a chat over a coffee or a beer. Other meetings have a more formal nature, with presentations or tutorials. Some groups do both, alternating.

Java User Groups (JUGs) are volunteer organizations that strive to distribute Java-related knowledge around the world. Oracle Applications Users Group (OAUG) is a global organization that enhances the capabilities of Oracle users in their day-to-day use and management of the growing family of Oracle Applications, including Oracle E-Business Suite, Fusion Applications PeopleSoft Enterprise, Agile, Hyperion, Siebel CRM and Oracle Primavera. The OAUG provides its members access to a global knowledgebase of solutions, presents numerous user-developed and user-led training programs and educational events, supports an extensive community of geographic and special interest groups, and facilitates networking with other Oracle Applications users and with Oracle. Oracle Development Tools User Group (ODTUG) is an independent, global organization that provides education, support, advocacy, and networking opportunities for Oracle Database developers and architects using a variety of technologies. ODTUG's more than 20,000 members design applications, model data, write code, manage application systems, maintain legacy code, and are keyed into the middle-tier technology in Oracle Fusion products. ODTUG also supports the business intelligence (OBIEE, Hyperion, Essbase) and enterprise performance management (EPM) community. Along with Oracle's acquisition of Sun, ODTUG has now added content and support for all those in the MySQL community as well. Oracle HCM Users Group (OHUG) is an organization devoted exclusively to providing users with valuable insight into Oracle Applications, including Oracle's PeopleSoft human capital management (HCM) applications. Membership to OHUG is free. Since its inception in 1998, OHUG has provided users with a forum for interfacing directly with other Oracle users and with Oracle executives, product managers, development, and support, offering firsthand knowledge of new functionality right from the source.
