Oracle on Linux Install Fest
6:30 pm - 8:00pm, Nob Hill Rooms:
Join us to discover how easy it is to get up and running on Oracle10g on Linux. Bring your own laptop to learn how to install and configure Linux to run Oracle 10g software from the pros*

  • Hear the latest Linux product directions from Oracle, Red Hat and SuSE.
  • Using the Oracle Cluster File System V2 , Firewire and Intel EM64T computers, find out how to build a cost-effective Linux x86_64 cluster for testing Oracle Real Application Clusters.
  • Oracle Development team members will demonstrate how to install the latest Oracle10g Application Server on Linux, and show how it makes a power development environment when used with Oracle JDeveloper.
  • Ask Oracle developers about Open Office-friendly, HTML DB, the new innovative application development and deployment environment which is great for consolidating those rogue desktop environments.
  • FREE Oracle and Linux developer software, courtesy of OTN, Novell and Red Hat.

**If you would like to you install Oracle on Linux on your own laptop in addition to watching the demos, please RSVP to todd.trichler@oracle.com. Plan on arriving 10 minutes before the start of the session so we can accomodate you. A minimum of 512MB RAM is recommended.

Oracle 10g Code Challenge

Come see some of the top developers in the Oracle community battle it out in this coding bonanza!

  • Test your knowledge of Oracle and technology trivia to win spot prizes - Bring your laptop and show off your java and web services coding skills.
  • Contend with your fellow developers to win fame, fortune and fantastic prizes.

* If you plan on contending for the bragging rights of being the Code Champion, please RSVP to brian.fry@oracle.com. You will also need to attend the Installfest to make sure your laptop is configured and prepared for the code challenge.
Oracle Development will be hosting the Code Challenge and awarding the prizes, their decisions will be final.
