Oracle IT Architecture BPM 2013 Essentials

The audience for the Oracle IT Architecture BPM 2013 Essentials exam consists of enterprise architects, solution architects, and IT architects who guide the strategy, planning, and execution of architecture-centric transformations, programs, or projects.

The exam is best suited to architects with 2-5 years of relevant experience and an appropriate architect role in 3-5 implementations. This generally equates to the following role dependent job levels and competency levels:

Role Job Level Competency Level
Enterprise Architect Entry - Intermediate Architecture development skills with Oracle technology based solutions
Solution Architect Intermediate - Senior Architecture development skills with Oracle technology based solutions
IT Architect Senior Advanced

To assist Oracle customers with architecture-centric transformations/programs/projects Oracle has defined the Oracle Reference Architecture (ORA). ORA defines a reference architecture for building and integrating solutions based on Oracle technology. The reference architecture offers architecture principles and guidance based on recommendations from Oracle Product Development architects and field experts. It covers a broad spectrum of technology from virtualization to user interaction, security, and management. The Oracle Reference Architecture provides guidance on how to design solutions that best leverage the capabilities of the Oracle environment.

The Oracle Reference Architecture does not define an architecture development process and is intended to add value when used with any architecture development method. The appropriate application of the Oracle Reference Architecture should enable experienced architects to define their specific architectures more quickly, particularly when they have significant investment in Oracle technology.

This exam tests understanding of the core aspects of the Oracle Reference Architecture. (Oracle Reference Architecture Overview, Application Infrastructure, Security, Engineering, Integration, Management and Monitoring, Service Orientation, and User Interaction).
