Oracle Cuts Standard Edition One Pricing By 20%
If you thought Oracle was too expensive for the lower end of the market, think again. Oracle has recently reduced the pricing of its Standard Edition One Database, created to bring the power of the Oracle Database to SMEs and small workgroups.
From February 3rd 2004, a named user license is priced at $149 (€125), down from $195*. A per-processor license, which is valid for use on one or two processors, is priced at $4,995 (€4,192), down from $5,995.
With Oracle Database Standard Edition One, your SME customers can get the reliability, security and scalability of the world-leading Oracle Database at an eminently affordable price. As an illustration, a five-user implementation with named user licenses carries a list price of just $745 (€625). With this new pricing initiative, Oracle has removed the cost barrier and opened up a wide market opportunity for ISVs in the SME sector.
* A minimum of five licenses applies
