Oracle EMEA Revenues up 17% in Q3
Oracle reported a 17% increase in revenues in the EMEA region for the third quarter of the fiscal year, which ended on the 29th February 2004. With a strong portfolio of products which incorporate Grid technologies, Oracle is seeing increased demand as organisations in the region choose Oracle software and services to help them deliver greater efficiencies and productivity, and to expand markets.
"Our performance in EMEA continues to please, with third quarter revenues up 17% to $918m," said Sergio Giacoletto, Executive Vice President, Oracle Europe, Middle East & Africa. "We are now seeing organisations taking a more strategic approach in re-aligning business systems. Companies are standardising, consolidating and automating their infrastructure to deliver true business intelligence, increase their focus on customers and to lower costs."
He added, "Demand for Oracle solutions is increasing, particularly in Central and Eastern Europe and the Middle East and across most industry sectors, particularly in public services, telecommunications and financial services."
During the quarter Oracle and its EMEA partners scored major customer wins spanning most industry sectors, including deals with the Italian Ministry of the Interior, the National Bank of Romania, Telecom Egypt, Siberia Airlines, Volvo Car Corporation, FirstAssist, Carrefour and Lavazza.
