Oracle Unveils OPN Innovation Award Winners for 2006 in EMEA
UK ISV Mi-Services has taken top honours at the fourth annual Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN) Innovation Awards in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
The OPN Innovation Awards encourage and reward innovation by OPN members using Oracle's products and technology to create value for customers and generate new business potential.
UK-based Mi-Services, a subsidiary of Business & Decision, scooped first prize for its 'Compliant E-Records Solution for Life Sciences' initiative. The company developed an Electronics Records solution framework which was compliant with international E-Records and Signatures regulations and guidelines, for use in sectors such as pharmaceuticals, medical devices and biotechnology.
Stein Surlien, vice president, Alliances & Channels, at Oracle EMEA said: "We are delighted to reward our partners - Mi-Services, Fujitsu Siemens Computers and Equilybra - for their truly innovative solutions. We are committed, though the Oracle PartnerNetwork, to give our partners the support, services and expertise that help them create valuable solutions which enable their customers achieve their business goals. Their success is our success."
Mi-Services' solution leverages the Oracle E-Records framework. It also supports Oracle to extend the solution to more modules and transactions within the E-Business Suite, as well as providing the E-Records framework to other applications via the Fusion integration project.
"The ability to innovate has always been integral to Oracle's success, and our partners also recognise that innovation is one of the keys to maintaining a leadership position," said Vasu Briquez, chair of the Oracle Innovation Board in EMEA. "The OPN Innovation Awards provide us with an excellent opportunity to encourage and reward the outstanding initiatives that are being developed in our partner community."
OPN Innovation Award winners receive prizes which enhance their visibility within the OPN partner community and the wider market. These include 'OPN Innovation Award Winner' branding, a specific 'Innovation Award' advertising campaign, and access to a Market Development Fund for business expansion in other countries.
In second place, Fujitsu Siemens Computers was commended for 'FlexFrame for Oracle', an adaptive infrastructure solution that enables data centres to consolidate their server landscapes and allows simplified access to on-demand application and database services. Third prize was awarded to Italian partner Equilybra for its 'Equilybra eBusiness Suite Accelerators' initiative, a preconfigured eBusiness Suite (EBS) based on the Oracle EBS Special Edition.
