Excellent Financial Performance and Licence Growth Across Oracle EMEA Region and Worldwide
Oracle has reported strong revenue and licence growth both globally and across the EMEA region, following an impressive fourth quarter of the last fiscal year.
Highlights of some excellent results include total annual revenue increases across the EMEA region of 10 per cent; worldwide fourth quarter new licence revenue growth of 32 per cent, and worldwide fourth quarter GAAP revenues up 25 per cent to $4.9bn (€3.9bn).
- Oracle EMEA reported strong performance for the fiscal year 2006 as total revenues increased by 10 per cent. Over 100 per cent applications growth in the last six months reflects Oracle's rapidly gaining market share. Oracle reported revenues of $4,708 (€3,740) million in US GAAP basis for the fiscal year 2006 (ended 31 May 2006) for the EMEA region, a 10 per cent growth compared to fiscal year 2005. Operations in the region accounted for 33 per cent of worldwide FY06 revenues, and new licence revenues grew 10 per cent compared with the previous year. For the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2006, new licence revenues were also up 20 per cent on the fourth quarter 2005 as the region saw increased demand from a broad span of industry sectors, in particular public services, financial services, retail and telecommunications, as well as the small, medium enterprise market. Sergio Giacoletto, executive vice president, Oracle EMEA commented: "This has been a good year for the region, with growth across all lines of business. We have increased our revenues; consolidated our leadership in our bedrock markets of public services, financial services and telecommunications; and extended our presence substantially in the healthcare, retail and transport and logistics industries. For EMEA customers, the decision to put Oracle at the heart of their business success is based on three compelling factors: open standards-based technologies and information architecture; a world-class set of customer-centric information age applications from a single vendor; and the peace of mind of a superior support service."
- Oracle's new licence revenues grew by 32 per cent to $2.12 billion, exceeding previous guidance of 8 per cent to 18 per cent growth. Database technology licence revenues grew 18 per cent, while applications licence revenues increased 83 per cent.
