Catz and Phillips: Making IT Easier for Customers
Commenting on Oracle's record with its acquired technology, "We did exactly what we said we would do," Phillips said. "We continued to enhance these products, making them easier to upgrade, with better analytics and modern middleware. It's instructive to look at that track record as people are again worried about what we might do with Sun hardware. We'll do what we've always done. We'll make the products better."

Tom Kyte Asks: What Are We Still Doing Wrong?
Kyte, vice president and senior technical architect in Oracle's Server Technology Division, Oracle ACE, and the popular blogger behind Ask Tom , kicked off Oracle Develop by pointing out areas where developers can realize big improvements by making minor adjustments to the way they approach their work.

Larry Ellison Joins Scott McNealy on SUNday's Keynote Stage
Ellison went detailed the speed of the new Sun Oracle Database Machine , highlighting its eco-friendly FlashFire technology, and the 16-times faster response compared to what IBM has delivered. He also pointed out how much more energy the IBM machine requires over the Sun Oracle Database Machine. “I don't know what building a smarter planet means, but at Sun and Oracle, we're going to build smarter machines,” Ellison said.
