Earlier today, Oracle Corporation and ProfitLogic, Inc. announced they have entered into a definitive agreement whereby Oracle will acquire ProfitLogic, a privately held provider of Retail Profit Optimization software, to further extend Oracle's retail offerings. We would like to take this opportunity to outline the benefits we anticipate this transaction to deliver to our Oracle and Retek partners and their customers, once completed.
With this acquisition, Oracle continues to extend our reach in the retail sector by adding incremental value to our existing retail offerings for the benefit of our partners and customers. Oracle, through its Retek Global Business Unit, plans to offer customers one of the most complete software solutions in the retail industry. Oracle, Retek, and ProfitLogic have complementary products with a common focus on supporting our respective customers, which includes many of the most successful retailers in the world. With ProfitLogic's retail profit optimization solutions, Retek's planning and execution solutions, and Oracle's leading enterprise database infrastructure and ERP applications, we will provide a more integrated solution for the customer insight-driven retail enterprise.
