The Blue Cross and Blue Shield Massachusetts company serves nearly 3 million members, it offers indemnity insurance, HMOs, preferred provider organizations, and Medicare extension programs. The not-for-profit organization runs HMO Blue, HMO Blue New England, and Blue Choice New England (POS), as well as Medex, a Medicare supplemental plan. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Massachusetts also teams up with other regional Blues to offer plans HMO Blue New England and Blue Choice New England, which feature discounts at some health clubs.
