Helena Chemical develops, manufactures, and distributes agricultural chemicals and pesticides. With four manufacturing plants in the U.S., the company buys chemical precursors from Monsanto and other suppliers and sells to distributors, agricultural co-ops, agribusiness, and home & garden centers.
Challenges/Opportunities:-
- Pressure from suppliers, along with the need to achieve internal benefits such as lower process costs and faster response times, compelled Helena to move to industry standard eCommerce.
- A need for Helena to rapidly implemented B2B initiative leveraging ebXML, BPEL and EBS to set-up Helena’s first eCommerce project focused on electronic ordering from the suppliers.

- With BPEL, processes - such as “Order to Cash” and “Procure to Pay” are executed in the business process engine, with subsequent orchestrations into ERP(Oracle Procurement), CRM, and other internal applications
- The seamless integration of the ebXML message service (ebMS), message transformation and BPEL tools inside the Oracle XML gateway was the key to rapidly configuring the business solution at Helena Chemical.
