Ingersoll-Rand is a leading manufacturer of construction products and industrial goods, operating more than 80 production facilities worldwide. Through its diverse portfolio of brands- which includes Schlage, Thermo King, Hussmann, Bobcat, and Club Car-- Ingersoll-Rand delivers comprehensive solutions from a single, proven source.

Ingersoll-Rand was tasked with the challenge to communicate more effectively, and as a single organization, to Ingersoll-Rands multi brand dealer network. In order to accomplish this they needed to simplify the use of their network by reducing the number of user ID’s and passwords that were required for dealers and by creating a common navigation front end that would ease the transition between sites and applications. By doing so they hoped to be able to simplify the ordering, warranty processing and product information communications via the internet. They turned to Oracle Access Manager to help develop a single dealer portal. This allowed them to gain the ability to create and manage a centralized directory of user privileges, providing Ingersoll-Rand with a single point of user administration and a consolidated view of its dealerships. This also helped to increase the overall efficiency by providing dealers with an easy to use portal interface and a single sign on solution, facilitating the navigation across various applications. As a direct result of this implementation Ingersoll-Rand have also gained auditing and reporting capabilities which have helped expand their corporate visibility and governance. Ingersoll Rand recently went live on Oracle Virtual Directory.
