McData chose Oracle because of lower total cost of ownership, maturity of
applications, and integrated data model. In 2001, they replaced an existing SAP
solution with a range of Oracle E-Business Suite applications for managing the
company's supply chain, finances, human resources, sales and service. More
recently, McDATA acquired a company that was running Siebel SFA and Call Center,
and so they are now also running those applications integrated with their EBS
back office applications
