Organization Profile

Danish Rail, officially named DSB, carries some 160 million passengers every year and operates approx. 80% of passenger train services in Denmark. DSB provides rail services within Denmark and across international borders. Passenger train km totalled 55 million in 2004. The DSB Group has a turnover of DKK 9.9bn and employs a staff of 9,000.

The SOA/BPEL implementation at DSB is the core of their integration platform managing everything from their train schedules, tracking the trains to mission critical tasks and to their SAP ERP solution. Their integration platform is based on Oracle technology because they were convinced that Oracle provide the optimal combination of products, technology and know how and at the same time would be able to provide the service that they require to run such a critical task.
