Trinity Logistics Corporation is an industrial distributor specializing in supply chain services to the agricultural and construction equipment industries. Trinity offers a wide range of products and services including inventory management, lean manufacturing kitting, cell support, procurement, assembly, packaging, and same day shipment. The company carries approximately $10 million inventory of over 25 thousand unique items. Production occurs from four warehouses throughout the country. They currently hold about 76 million pieces of various parts in inventory. Annual revenues around $30 million are generated by about 100 employees.

Trinity Logistics Corporation is using BI Publisher with Oracle E- Business suite to address the following business needs:

  • Conditional formatting of invoices, based on unit of measure and pricing options.
  • Conditional formatting of move order pick slips to dynamically change company logos and contact information, depending on the type of order.
  • Sorting on move order pick slip to sort by sales order line number which differs from sort order of XML source.
  • Use of watermark functionality on quote documents incorporating two different page headers and footers.
  • Templates/Report layouts created using Microsoft Office.
  • Barcode printing on packing slips.
  • Check printing.
  • PDF output used extensively
  • Current documents being generated through BI Publisher include Checks, Invoices, Move Order Pick Slip, Packing Slip, Purchase Order, Blanket Purchase Agreement, Blanket Releases, Sales order Quotes and Sales Order Acknowledgments.

Trinity Logistics plans to use the BI Publisher functionality to address the following business requirements in the future:

  • Generating report data to Excel.
  • EDI transactions in XML to reduce VAN charges.
  • Label generation with XML to replace current label software and associated maintenance fees.
  • Additional reporting both internal and customer facing
