| Forum Description |
| |
ING Lease Belgium had been experiencing rapid growth in the leasing market. Over past 5 years, ING Lease Belgium has made significant acquisitions (Runato, WhiteStone, D'Ieteren Lease) to further bolster its presence in the marketplace. This has led to a very fragmented IT infrastructure. Customer data is spread across multiple different applications. At the same time, external competitive pressures were forcing ING Belgium to evaluate their core internal processes – leasing process from quote to contract. Business processes were non-integrated and required heavy manual intervention, thereby leading to more errors and eventually sub minimal customer service. Banking standards were becoming stringent in terms of security and availability requirements.
ING Lease Belgium collaborated with systems integrator, Accelior to address these challenges. Instead of adopting a big-bang approach and exposing themselves to a higher risk, ING Lease and Accelior aligned themselves with an iterative methodology based on extreme programming. Oracle BPEL was leveraged to create a Leasing Automation Platform (LAP). This platform automates the end-to-end leasing process i.e. quote to contracts.
