Standard Components, Predictable Performance and Rapid Deployment for Data Warehouses
As part of the Oracle Optimized Warehouse Initiative, Oracle and Sun have partnered to create a comprehensive set of Data Warehousing reference configurations
that enable IT planners and architects to start from a "best-fit" guide when building a data warehouse. These configurations can then be customized
for specific workloads and requirements and include both vertical and horizontal scalability options.
Customers can choose suggested reference configurations based on a variety of metrics, including small, medium or large size (from 300 GB to 10TB), workload
(light, standard or heavy) and architecture (single server or clustered solution). These vendor-confirmed, well-balanced configurations ensure that CPU resources,
memory, I/O bandwidth, and disks work smoothly together to provide excellent performance and bottleneck-free capacity.
Sun's series of optimized data warehousing configurations include Oracle Database and Real Application Clusters, Sun Fire servers and Sun StorageTek
disk arrays. Click here to learn more about Oracle-Sun Data Warehousing reference configurations, or contact your Oracle or Sun representative.
