![]() Pre-built Oracle Solaris 11 Express Developer Virtual Machine with Oracle Solaris Studio and GNU development toolsOverviewPlease note that this appliance is for testing purposes only, as such it is unsupported and should not to be used in a production environment. All you need is to install Oracle VirtualBox on your desktop/laptop and import the Oracle Solaris 11 Express Developer appliance - no further installation or configuration is required! Requirements

SetupStep 1. Download and install Oracle VM VirtualBox on your host system. Step 2. The appliance file is ~3GB large so we provide 2 alternatives for your download. 1. Download these 4 files and combine them to the VM appliance file http://download.oracle.com/otn/solaris/express/Solaris_11_Express_Developer_VM.part01 Concatenate the files you just downloaded. Unix (Solaris/OSX/Linux/BSD): Windows: 2. Download the 3GB Solaris_11_Express_Developer_VM.ova file MD5 checksums for the downloaded files and for Solaris_11_Express_Developer_VM.ova file Step 3. Import your VM: File > Import Appliance to launch Appliance Import Wizard. Click Choose... to browse to the Solaris_11_Express_Developer_VM.ova file that you create. Then click Next > to begin importing the virtual machine. Adjust the RAM to be no more then half of your the physical RAM on your host. Step 4. Start your VM: Once the import has completed, start the VM. You will be automatically logged in as user oracle. You will be greeted with a welcome page covering other details of the VM. Default user is oracle with password oracle Once you are finished working in the VM you can shut it down via System > Shut Down; this will shutdown the VM.
