Oracle Maximum Availability Architecture - MAA

Oracle Maximum Availability Architecture (MAA) is Oracle's best practices blueprint based on Oracle high availability (HA) technologies, extensive validation performed by the Oracle MAA development team, and the accumulated production experience of customers who have successfully deployed business critical applications on Oracle.

The goal of MAA is to achieve the optimal HA architecture at the lowest cost and complexity:

  •  MAA best practices span Exadata Database Machine, Oracle Database, Oracle Fusion Middleware, Oracle Applications, Enterprise Manager Cloud Control and Oracle Partners.
  •  MAA addresses the complete range of business requirements.
  •  MAA leverages lower-cost servers and storage.
  •  MAA evolves with new Oracle versions and features.
  •  MAA is hardware and OS independent.

Oracle Database HA capabilities are described in detail in the technical white paper Maximize Availability with Oracle Database 12c.
