Oracle Cluster Health Monitor (CHM/OS)
This tool (formerly known as Instantaneous Problem Detector for Clusters or IPD/OS) is designed to detect and analyze operating system (OS) and cluster resource related degradation and failures in order to bring more explanatory power to many issues that occur in clusters where Oracle Clusterware and Oracle RAC are running such as node eviction. It continuously tracks the OS resource consumption at each node, process, and device level. It collects and analyzes this cluster-wide data. In real time mode, when thresholds are hit, an alert is shown to the operator. For root cause analysis, historical data can be replayed to understand what was happening at the time of failure.

CHM/OS is available in two distinct runtimes - Integrated with  the Oracle Grid Infrastructure and Standalone.  Beginning with Oracle Grid Infrastructure (11.2.0.2), CHM/OS is fully integrated. It is installed and activated by default.  The CHM/OS Standalone version, available here, will work with earlier versions of the Oracle Grid Infrastructure and Clusterware (10.2 to 11.2.0.1). As CHM/OS interacts directly with the host OS, it is port-speciic. The Standalone version is only available for the listed Operating Systems.

CHM/OS Graphical User Interface (CHMOSG) supplements the command line utility provided with both versions of CHM/OS with a graphics-based interface. This UI provides flexible mouse or keyboard-driven access to all of the CHM/OS views for both real-time and historical modes. Cross-cluster histogram views provide easy analysis of problems and imbalances in resources or processes. As CHMOSG is written in Java it is not port-specific and may be used with all versions of CHM/OS.
