OnStar is the largest telematics solution provider on the globe, with 6 million subscribers in North America and abroad. OnStar uses situational awareness and real-time analysis to deliver fast, accurate emergency services to its customers. At the core of this solution is an Oracle Spatial-based analytical server that supports Google Earth visualization and NAVTEQ data. Jeff is the Emergency Strategy and Outreach Research Analyst and is responsible for providing insights into OnStar’s emergency response and capability. Jeff has a long history with OnStar, starting in 2001, designing and deploying the main application for OnStar’s Customer Care Department, developing reporting and analytics capabilities to provide insights into how OnStar’s customers utilize the services provided, and deploying new tools to provide geography-based analytics of subscriber services. Jeff then moved to Public Policy to begin developing studies to understand how well certain aspects of our services, such as the Injury Severity Prediction Algorithm, perform. Jeff graduated from the University of Michigan, in Physics, and attended Central Michigan University’s MSA program. Jeff is also an Injury Research Fellow with The University of Michigan Program for Injury Research and Education. He has been an EMT Instructor-Coordinator in the State of Michigan, served on the State Task Force that developed the first licensing exam for EMTs in Michigan, was a Practical Examiner for the EMT licensing Exam in Michigan, and worked with a community fire department as their Instructor-Coordinator and working shifts on their Rescue Squad.
