Oracle Database 12c provides support for strong authentication to the Oracle database. While password based authentication is the most common means of authentication, the Oracle database supports stronger forms of authentication, including Kerberos, PKI, and RADIUS. Kerberos is the most popular method of strong authentication used with the Oracle Database. Oracle Database 12c provides an updated Kerberos implementation. Please refer to the Oracle documentation for additional details on configuring strong authentication with the Oracle database.
