Application templates provide you with a quick way to create the project structure for standard applications with the appropriate combination of technologies already specified. The new application created from the template appears in the Application Navigator already partitioned into tiered projects, with the associated technology scopes set in each project.
There are several templates to choose from when you are creating a new application.
The application template you select determines the initial project structure (the named project folders within the application) and the application libraries that will be added. The project or projects in the application define the associated technologies. The application template also filters the work you do in JDeveloper such that the choices available are focused only on the technologies you are working with.
Each application template can be customized to add (or delete) technologies of your choice. To make changes to a template or create a new template, choose
Application
Manage Templates
from the main menu.
Once you have created an application using a suitable template, you can still adjust the technologies available for the application:
