You will configure your application to allow for insertion of new data into the database. First, you will select the Create operation from the Data Controls panel and place it on the browse page as a button.
The bindings for this button will create a new, empty row in the associated entity object. You will also set the action for the page to navigate to the
editOrders.jspx page you created earlier. Thus, the button will create a new, empty row in the
Orders entity and also call the
goEdit action to show the form where users can provide data for the new row. The
Save button you created earlier will commit users' changes back to the database.
In order to configure your application for inserting new rows, you will also set default values for some of the mandatory fields. This will result in fewer fields in which users must enter data when they are creating new rows.
