Providing elevated application availability, performance, and security; lower application complexity and cost; and reduced deployment risk, these solutions include best practices and deployment guidance for WAN optimization, application and Ethernet switching, firewall access control, and storage switching technologies. Cisco, with the support of Oracle product teams, also continues to invest in testing and documenting of best-in-class network solutions for new Oracle releases such as Oracle SOA Suite and Siebel Customer Relationship Management 8.0. This commitment will reduce risk and shorten deployment times for future Oracle customer implementations. Zend Core for Oracle 2.0 ReleasedZend Technologies and Oracle have released Zend Core for Oracle 2.0, merging Zend Core's production-quality PHP solution with native integration with Oracle Database and PHP support in Oracle Application Server. Fujitsu FlexFrame for Oracle Applies Grid Computing DynamicallyOracle Certified Advantage Partner Fujitsu has announced FlexFrame for Oracle, the first dynamic infrastructure solution based on Oracle grid technology for application and database services. Fujitsu FlexFrame for Oracle eliminates the permanent assignment of Oracle services to specific servers, and instead uses all resources dynamically to handle workloads. Under the FlexFrame architecture, all services software resides on the storage system and can be assigned to any server in the infrastructure—even nonlocal servers—via NetBoot. In addition to providing flexibility, this approach simplifies patches, updates, and other software lifecycle management tasks.
The FlexFrame architecture is based on an IP network with a cluster of Fujitsu PRIMERGY servers and flexible, integrated storage. This architecture ensures that every Oracle-based service can be run on any server at any time, so enterprises can consolidate IT landscapes and provide on-demand availability of applications and services. Scalable PRIMERGY blade servers also provide an attractive software-licensing model.
