Oracle SQL Developer 2.1 Offers Productivity Enhancements
Now available, Oracle SQL Developer 2.1 is the latest release of Oracle’s free database development and migration tool. Oracle SQL Developer 2.1 offers Oracle Database developers productivity enhancements with two new features: PL/SQL Unit Testing and Data Modeler Viewer.
PL/SQL Unit Testing is a unit-testing framework that enables developers to build and share unit tests and test suites that can be run in batch mode and from the command line against different databases. It offers database developers prebuilt capabilities with which to develop and run regression tests for their database code, resulting in higher-quality database development while reducing the need for writing scripts for unit testing.
Data Modeler Viewer provides read-only access to Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler. This new feature enables developers, data modelers, IT architects, and others to use the tool to open and browse data models built with the standalone Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler as well as graphically view their schema objects by dragging tables onto a model diagram. Data Modeler Viewer allows users to rely on a single tool to browse third-party database tables and their foreign key relationships on a diagram and then use the tool to migrate data and objects to an Oracle database.
Oracle SQL Developer 2.1 also introduces Oracle Migration Workbench support for Teradata and IBM DB2 UDB for Linux, UNIX, and Windows.

Oracle Process Integration Packs Integrate Project Management with ERP
Two new Oracle Application Integration Architecture 2.5 Process Integration Packs integrate project management and enterprise resource planning (ERP).
Oracle Project Portfolio Management Integration Pack for Primavera P6 and Oracle E-Business Suite connects Oracle’s Primavera P6 Enterprise Project Portfolio Management with Oracle Project Costing and Oracle Project Management to seamlessly integrate project management and financial information for complete enterprise project portfolio management (PPM) functionality. It allows users to synchronize information regardless of whether they create projects in Oracle Project Costing and Oracle Project Management or Primavera P6 Enterprise Project Portfolio Management.
Oracle Project Portfolio Management Integration Pack for Primavera P6 and Oracle’s JD Edwards EnterpriseOne connects Primavera P6 Enterprise Project Portfolio Management and JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Project Costing, offering seamless integration that allows users to synchronize information between the two solutions regardless of where they create projects.
With either pack, users can synchronize project structures, resource details, budgets, actual costs, progress, and cost to complete. This provides one cohesive look into all projects and portfolios within an enterprise.

Oracle Real User Experience Insight 6 Unveiled
Oracle has released Oracle Real User Experience Insight 6, a real-user monitoring solution for business applications that combines performance and usage analysis into a single offering. Oracle Real User Experience Insight integrates with the performance diagnostics capabilities of Oracle Enterprise Manager, helping to identify and resolve user experience issues before business is affected.
The new release also integrates with Oracle’s Java diagnostic and SOA management capabilities to provide a single-vendor solution for proactively diagnosing anomalies from the end-user perspective through to the application, middleware, and database. This allows businesses to decrease the time it takes to identify and repair issues. The release also delivers enhanced accelerators for Oracle’s Siebel Customer Relationship Management, Oracle E-Business Suite, and Oracle’s PeopleSoft Enterprise and JD Edwards EnterpriseOne applications, providing improved end-user monitoring and service-level management for these applications.
Oracle Real User Experience Insight 6 integrates enterprise-class performance diagnostics with business dashboards and Oracle application-ready accelerators. Key features of the new release include integrated performance diagnostics, full user session replay, and customizable monitoring dashboards.

Oracle Governance, Risk, and Compliance Controls Suite 8.5 Available
Oracle Governance, Risk, and Compliance Controls Suite 8.5, now shipping, includes new versions of Oracle Transaction Controls Governor and Oracle Application Access Controls Governor. The suite continuously monitors automated controls in enterprise applications to enforce policies, strengthen the integrity of critical business processes, and mitigate exposure to fraud and error.
Oracle Transaction Controls Governor is a policy-authoring engine that enables ad hoc definition and analysis of access, master data, and transaction controls across systems without requiring technical skills. It uses a visual approach to support the construction of custom controls by business users. As they specify steps, articulate control flow, and apply filters, users are able to define highly specific rules in a simple way. Oracle Transaction Controls Governor uses statistical logic and algorithms to analyze patterns and systematically uncover control weaknesses and out-of-policy transactions. With fewer false positives, control results are more accurate and can be relied on with more confidence. An adapter framework for connecting to any business application allows organizations with several versions of enterprise resource planning financial applications from multiple vendors to manage controls heterogeneously.
Oracle Application Access Controls Governor provides improved graphical simulation capabilities to allow users to graphically look into access points, easily identify segregation-of-duties conflicts, and simulate what-if scenarios to evaluate treatment options. By previewing the effects of cleanup if proposed conflict resolutions were implemented, organizations can sensibly decide on and apply remediation plans.

Oracle GoldenGate also provides reliable data quality, instant business intelligence, higher online transaction processing (OLTP) performance, and 24/7 data availability for mission-critical systems.
Oracle GoldenGate allows real-time data movement between heterogeneous source and target systems with minimal overhead on the IT infrastructure, enabling real-time business intelligence solutions; multidirectional data synchronization for distributed systems; downtime-free system upgrades; disaster recovery; and migrations between heterogeneous databases, OS platforms, and servers.

Oracle Buys Product Data Quality Provider Silver Creek Systems
Oracle has acquired Silver Creek Systems, a provider of product data quality solutions. Silver Creek’s DataLens product data quality solution is designed to simplify complex product descriptions commonly found in many industries, enabling enterprises to more accurately manage product data. Accurate product data improves time to market for new products, enhances supply chain execution, increases operational efficiencies, and facilitates better business decisions across the enterprise.
The addition of Silver Creek products complements Oracle’s information management offerings to provide a more complete and more integrated solution.

Oracle Audit Vault 10.2.3.2 Streamlines Database Audit Process
Oracle has released Oracle Audit Vault 10.2.3.2, which includes new reporting and alerting capabilities that automate and streamline the database audit process. The new release includes report scheduling, notification, attestation, and archiving capabilities that can help organizations lower the cost of complying with internal and external data privacy and protection mandates. New entitlement reports provide up-to-date snapshots of Oracle Database users, privileges, and profiles, which allow auditors to track changes to database access.
The new release also includes compliance reports to specifically address the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, and the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard regulatory requirements for database activity monitoring and audit. Oracle Audit Vault also now includes automated cleanup of audit trail data from supported Oracle and non-Oracle databases once that audit data has been securely consolidated in the Oracle Audit Vault repository.

Oracle Enterprise Single Sign-On Anywhere Supports Private Clouds
Now available, Oracle Enterprise Single Sign-On Anywhere lets enterprises host single-tenant enterprise single sign-on in a private cloud. Oracle Enterprise Single Sign-On Anywhere extends Oracle Enterprise Single Sign-On Suite to provide employees, partners, suppliers, and other enterprise affiliates with secure access to Web-based, client/server, and mainframe enterprise applications. With Oracle Enterprise Single Sign-On Anywhere, enterprises can increase operational efficiencies, reduce costs, enhance security, boost productivity, and accelerate regulatory compliance.
