Star Analytics Supports Oracle Fusion Middleware

Oracle partner Star Analytics’ flagship product, Star Finance Command Center, now supports Oracle Fusion Middleware. Star Finance Command Center can now meld with business processes that are managed through Oracle Fusion Middleware and Oracle BPEL Process Manager.

Star Finance Command Center is based on the idea that enterprise resource planning is not the sole source of truth in many organizations; business planning, analysis, and financial consolidation applications are also factors. Star Finance Command Center helps manufacturing, financial services, energy, and technology companies to link up and automate application processes across multiple disparate finance applications.

Several Oracle partners, including interRel Consulting, Ranzal & Associates, Linium, and Global Analytics, are incorporating Star Analytics technology into their business intelligence, enterprise performance management, and data warehousing offerings.

DSI’s dcLINK Achieves Validated Integration with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.0

Oracle Certified Advantage Partner Data Systems International (DSI), a provider of global enterprise mobility solutions, has announced that its dcLINK 5.0 mobile solution has achieved Oracle Validated Integration with Oracle’s JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.0.

DSI’s dcLINK completed Oracle Validated Integration as part of the Oracle Application Integration Architecture for Partners initiative. DSI has maintained validated integration of dcLINK with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne for nearly a decade.

Avnet Now Distributes Oracle Applications in the U.K.

Avnet Technology Solutions (ATS), an Oracle Certified Advantage Partner and an Oracle value-added distributor, now distributes Oracle Applications in the U.K. To support this new Oracle Applications business, ATS will provide resellers with enablement training on Oracle Applications.

ATS’s new Oracle Applications capabilities are intended for resellers working with midsize customers. The company has distributed Oracle technologies such as Oracle Database; Oracle Fusion Middleware; and business intelligence, security and identity management, and service-oriented architecture solutions in the U.K. for many years.

Brocade Storage Area Networks Gain Oracle Certification

Network infrastructure provider and Oracle partner Brocade has unveiled several technology solutions, consisting of server, storage, and networking hardware, for use with Oracle Database and Oracle Applications.

For database and data warehousing environments, Brocade has created several server/storage/networking configurations based on the size of the customer or the size of the data set. For large enterprises, the database configuration consists of Brocade 5300 switches and Brocade host bus adapters (HBAs) combined with EMC Symmetrix V-Max storage systems. For midsize companies or departments, the configuration includes Brocade 5100 switches and Brocade HBAs combined with EMC CLARiiON CX4 storage. For large data warehouses, the configuration uses Brocade 5100 and 5300 switches coupled with EMC CLARiiON CX4 and Symmetrix V-Max storage systems, while smaller Oracle data warehouses—those ranging from 6TB to 205TB—are offered Brocade 300, 5100, and 5300 SAN switches or Brocade DCX backbones paired with Sun Fire servers or Sun SPARC Enterprise servers.

For business intelligence and business applications, the recommended configuration uses the Brocade ServerIron Application Delivery Controller and the Brocade FastIron LS, along with the Sun Storage 7410 Unified Storage System.

Whitehouse Consultants and InFact Group Announce Partnership

Whitehouse Consultants, an Oracle Certified Advantage Partner with expertise in Oracle’s JD Edwards EnterpriseOne and JD Edwards World applications, and InFact Group, an Oracle Certified Partner with an Oracle CRM On Demand practice, have announced a technology partnership in which the two companies will integrate JD Edwards applications with Oracle CRM On Demand.

Whitehouse and InFact will integrate both back- and front-office data using prebuilt Oracle connectors between JD Edwards applications and Oracle CRM On Demand. This integration will allow organizations to align sales and production and will let information flow freely between them.

CedarCrestone Enhances PeopleSoft Pension Administration

Oracle Platinum Partner CedarCrestone has signed a codevelopment agreement with Oracle to enhance Oracle’s PeopleSoft Pension Administration and related products that are used by state and local public sector pension managers in the U.S.

End-to-end business processes such as service purchases are targeted for improvement, and overall improvements in rule configuration and reporting are planned. The codeveloped enhancements will enable government entities to more easily manage participant-centric pension plans.

Core Services’ BI architects work with business organizations and technical teams to manage Oracle projects.

CSC Launches OTM Connect

CSC, an Oracle Certified Advantage Partner, has developed OTM Connect, a transportation management system adapter that connects to Oracle Transportation Management. OTM Connect consists of three elements—a framework, a toolset, and a methodology —that can be used to link existing enterprise resource planning or proprietary transportation solutions with Oracle Transportation Management.

OTM Connect’s configurable framework offers prebuilt views, business logic, and table sets. The customizable toolset in OTM Connect is built on Oracle BPEL technology and allows construction of custom objects out of multiple order lines. These custom objects allow users to configure business rules and incorporate business logic that cannot be implemented or modeled in the host system or in Oracle Transportation Manager. CSC’s implementation methodology for OTM Connect incorporates templates and accelerators to help companies get the most out of Oracle Transportation Management.

Other features and functions of OTM Connect include configurable data conversion, lookup, and validation; system synchronization; error management; and portal management.

V-Soft Completes Oracle PartNernetwork Specialized Training

Oracle Certified Partner V-Soft, a reseller and implementer of Oracle’s customer relationship management and product lifecycle management products, has completed Oracle PartnerNetwork Specialized training. This online training helps partners leverage Oracle’s new global partner program, formally certify their specializations and offerings, be recognized by Oracle for their expertise, and become preferred solution providers.

V-Soft resells and provides consulting services for organizations implementing Oracle CRM On Demand in North America. The company works in industry verticals including life sciences, wealth management, high technology, manufacturing, and consumer products.

Infosys Technologies Launches Business Platform for Human Resources

Oracle Certified Advantage Partner Infosys Technologies has launched a comprehensive managed multifunction human resources (HR) platform through the BPO Powered by Oracle program, which makes the complete Oracle stack of applications and technologies available to business process outsourcing (BPO) service providers. The new offering, Infosys Business Platform for HR, bundles Oracle-based HR technologies, application services, process consulting, and business process operations.

The platform is built on Oracle’s PeopleSoft Enterprise human capital management solutions and offers the entire hire-to-retire portfolio—including HR administration, payroll, and talent management—in a hosted and managed environment. Infosys teams provide integrated technology, process, and language support from multiple offshore and near-shore delivery centers on a pay-as-you-go variable pricing model.

Zend Technologies and Oracle Deliver Linux PHP Solution

Oracle partner Zend Technologies’ Zend Server, a Web application server that includes out-of-the-box enterprise-grade connectivity to Oracle Database, is now available through Oracle’s Unbreakable Linux Network.

Access to Zend Server via the Unbreakable Linux Network will ease deployment of PHP-based Web applications in IT environments that use Oracle databases. Zend Server includes the most up-to-date version of PHP; advanced monitoring and diagnostics; an enhanced code accelerator; and 24/7 access to Zend’s online updates, hot fixes, and security patches. Zend Server also integrates with Zend Studio (Zend’s PHP integrated development environment) and Zend Framework (Zend’s open source PHP framework). Zend Server, Zend Studio, and Zend Framework integrate with Oracle Database 11g.

BizTech Delivers Oracle BI over AT&T’s Synaptic Hosting Platform

Oracle Certified Advantage Partner BizTech now provides hosted Oracle business intelligence (BI) solutions on the AT&T Synaptic Hosting platform. The new offering combines BizTech’s management and technology consulting experience in Oracle BI with AT&T’s hosting, application management, and utility computing platform.

This solution, which lets companies use Oracle business intelligence solutions with other applications including Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle’s PeopleSoft, Oracle’s JD Edwards, SAP, and custom applications, is targeted at midsize to large companies.

The AT&T Synaptic Hosting platform provides a virtual infrastructure that enables customers to add computing capacity, bandwidth, and storage space as needed and pay only for the amount used. BizTech will also offer a RapidStart BI program to speed installation time and cut implementation costs.

Simba Technologies Introduces MDX Provider for Oracle OLAP

Oracle partner Simba Technologies has released MDX Provider for Oracle OLAP, a client-side driver that connects Microsoft Excel PivotTable cross-tab and dashboard functionality with Oracle OLAP data. MDX Provider for Oracle OLAP enables end users to query, display, and navigate through Oracle OLAP data directly from within Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.

With the MDX Provider for Oracle OLAP, organizations and departments that use Excel for ad hoc querying, analysis, and reporting can connect to Oracle OLAP data just as they would connect to any other datasource. Oracle OLAP supports analytical applications such as planning, budgeting, forecasting, sales, and marketing.

MDX Provider for Oracle OLAP supports Microsoft Excel 2007 and 2003 and Oracle Database 11g. It is built on Simba’s MDX 2005 query language technology.
