Java EE 5 SDK Update 8 and Java Application Platform Update 8 are free integrated development kits that one can use to build, test, and deploy Java EE 5-based applications. Included in the SDKs is Sun GlassFish Enterprise Server v2.1.1 (formerly Sun Java System Application Server), Sun's supported distribution of GlassFish v2.1.1, which implements the latest Java EE 5 technologies and provides features aimed at improving developer productivity.
The Java Application Platform SDK features additional runtimes such as Open ESB, Portlet Container, and Sun Java System Access Manager.
